What’s trending on Pinterest?
There’s no easy answer. In the months since the image-sharing social network has opened its digital doors, it has quietly rolled up nearly all of its trend-tracking features. No more “Tastemakers,” no more “Staff Picks,” and the “Popular” tab is useless for my needs.
What’s more, I can’t get in touch with Ben Silberman, the CEO of Pinterest, at all. I write to him whenever I write a story about Pinterest, and he rarely responds except to say, “I will forward your email to the appropriate person.” Come on Ben, I know you’re the one behind the press contact at Pinterest. I really just want to give your platform some publicity, can’t we work together to do that?
So now, when I try to write articles about Pinterest, I have no idea where to start. No idea what the trends are. No help from the Pinterest team. I’m taking this to the Pinterest community itself. If you’re a part of the Pinterest community, you can help. Repin my photo and let me know through the article, my email, or commenting on the pin itself: who are your top influencers on Pinterest? Your influencers might end up as the subjects of any number of my articles in 2012.
Thank you in advance. Your help will turn my difficult experience into something that will truly reflect Pinterest’s community members.
