So one of my top 10 songs was just banned...
On Canadian radio, at least. Geez, even I can tell that the use of a gay slur in “Money for Nothing” is supposed to be ironic.
That doesn’t mean it’s okay to use slurs today, but the song is 25 years old. We can’t turn around and clean up the mistakes we made in the past when we could better spend our time fixing the ones we’re still making today. Maybe we can...
